Northern Virginia Kitchen Remodeling | Expert Solutions By Veteran Built Homes

Vet Built Homes recently finished a 3 week project in my house that included lots of painting, bathroom renovation, drywall, woodwork, cabinets, installed new kitchen appliances and a new kitchen backsplash. The Project Manager Matt and crew members Micky and Oscar were awesome and great to work with. The quality of work was outstanding. They started work every single day at 8am and were professional and very respectful of my home. I highly recommend them and I plan on getting them again for future work!

We like to start off by saying working with Veteran Built Homes (VBH) was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Remodeling our kitchen was our first major renovation project. Our project manager, Jason, was exceptional throughout the entire process. He kept us informed and made sure any decisions that needed our input were handled smoothly and efficiently.
The team assigned to our kitchen remodel, Zack and Fernando, were absolutely fantastic, and couldn’t ask for a better team. They were incredibly hardworking, respectful, and friendly, and it was clear they took great pride in their work. They were on time each day and would keep the job site clean. It was easy to communicate with them and would take time to answer any questions I may have had during the process.
We highly recommend VBH to anyone considering a remodeling project and if we have any future remodeling jobs, VBH will be the first ones we would call.

We just finished a major kitchen and basement renovation with Veteran Built Homes and could not be more thrilled with the results! We consulted a few different remodeling companies and Veteran Built Homes impressed us right away with their professionalism, portfolio, and clear, competitive pricing. Large renovation projects are always stressful, but Matt, our project manager, was great about communicating timelines and workflows so we always knew what to expect each day. He made sure all of our concerns were addressed right away and kept our project on deadline. Micky and Oscar, our work crew, were punctual, polite, tidy, and did high-quality finish work, too! Veteran Built Homes recommended that we use an outside design firm (Designer Grey) for our kitchen design and we are so glad we did. Having a professional design made the construction process so much smoother, and the end result is even better than we could have imagined. We absolutely love our new kitchen and basement, and will absolutely recommend Veteran Built Homes to our friends and neighbors!

Super happy with Vet Built Homes' job on my kitchen remodel and plumbing project! I hired Veteran Built Homes for interior and exterior work on my kitchen and garage in Alexandria. Best bid, fully insured and bonded, and they started exactly on the date I needed for family scheduling. We budgeted 2.5 weeks for the interior and 4 weeks for the exterior. They finished everything in 14 days.
The kitchen was ready to cook half a week early. Plumbing wrapped 18 DAYS EARLY!. I added scope mid-project; they flexed and did the extras at a real bargain. When my amateur plumbing assumptions were wrong, the crew corrected me clearly, saving me from a decision I would have regretted. The finishing work was flawless!
Matt led the team. Santos and Gabriel made up the crew. Mark Pembleton, one of the company owners, supervised personally when needed. I had no hesitation letting them work in my garage around my personal tools or inside my home. That kind of trust isn't given lightly.

I can't say enough great things about Veteran Built Homes. We did a pretty big home renovation and had them doing work for 2 months. They gutted our kitchen, painted the entire house, sanded/restained hard wood floors on main level and stairs, installed new handrails on stairs, tore up carpet and put in LVP in our upstairs. It looks like a whole new house! They took us from 2005 to 2026. They were so great to work with for the entire process from start to finish. I appreciate JT who helped us scope out the initial plans, Jason who was our project manager for the duration of the work, and the many team members who worked on our home! Great communication and excellent results. Highly recommend this group of contracting professionals for the job!

Veteran Built Homes turned our dream home into a reality. Matt our PM, and the main crew members Santos and Gabriel were punctual, professional, and knowledgeable about every and all aspects of the project. Matt never over sold the timelines of the project; we knew what the next step was, how long it would take, and any inconveniences we would temporary have. We love our new kitchen and will recommend VBH to everyone and moving forward will go through them for everything. We felt like a part of a family and comfortable asking for any small detail that we needed and they worked well within our budget. This is the place to go for any renovation project.

Veteran Built Homes recently completed some work involving a full remodel of our master bathroom, kitchen cabinet painting, and an expansion of the coat closet under the stairs, and overall we’re extremely happy with the results.

Jason, Ryan, Jose, and Gabriel did excellent work throughout the project. The quality of their craftsmanship was great, and they were consistently professional, communicative, and detail-oriented. They showed up promptly at 8:00 a.m. every morning and kept the project moving, which we really appreciated. Even with heavy snow and ice during the project, everything was completed in a very reasonable timeframe.

As with any major remodel, there were a few issues along the way—primarily with matching paint colors, some flooring details, and a handful of minor items. What really stood out, though, was how the team handled them. They went above and beyond to address every concern, made things right without pushback, and truly dialed in the final result. They also accommodated a few project changes along the way.

The end product looks fantastic, and it’s clear they care about standing behind their work and customer satisfaction. We would absolutely recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for future projects.

I cannot say enough positive things about Veteran Built Homes, the entire operation is top notch and I whole-heartedly recommend them for your next project! My first interaction with Mark was super positive! He came at 11:00 am to view my kitchen, take measurements, etc. I had an estimate in my inbox by 2:30 pm that same day! Unheard of! Once the contract was signed I continued interacting with Matt, he could not be more delightful to work with! He was incredibly communicative, informing me of what to expect every step of the way. While my project was active we had almost daily communication. Micky and Oscar were the team who performed the majority of the work. They were punctual, respectful, highly skilled, and possess a high attention to detail. The best part is I LOVE every aspect of my new kitchen!! I’ve been enjoying it for over two months, there is not one thing I’m dissatisfied with! I already can’t wait to start my next project with Veteran Built Homes!

We recently completed a kitchen refresh with Veteran Built Homes. I love it and so happy with the results. Matt our contractor stayed on top of everything and was in constant communication with us. Our primary workers Micky and Oscar did a fabulous job. They were on time and worked hard every day. We have other work we need to complete and look forward to working Veteran Built Homes again.

I couldn't be happier with my kitchen renovation! From start to finish, the crew was absolutely fabulous-professional, friendly, and incredibly skilled. JT, Mark, Jason and Buddy (as well as the rest of the guys) did AMAZING! They arrived on time every day, kept the workspace clean, and walked me through every step of the process so there were no surprises.
The craftsmanship is top-notch. Every detail, from the cabinetry to the countertops and lighting, was handled with care and precision.
They worked efficiently without cutting corners and clearly take pride in what they do.
My kitchen now looks better than I ever imagined-modern, functional, and beautifully finished. If you're looking for a team that delivers excellent quality and a smooth renovation experience, this is the crew to choose!
Highly recommended! Thanks again!

Veteran Built Homes turned my old kitchen into my dream kitchen! It’s beautiful! They started my project earlier than expected, they were punctual, professional, and experienced. They cleaned up as they went and kept on schedule. If there was an issue it was rectified. Austin, Ludvin, and Jason did an outstanding job on my project and made sure I was happy. Highly recommend.

Outstanding Renovation - True Craftsmanship and Professionalism

I cannot say enough positive things about working with Joe and Mark! From start to finish, this project exceeded all expectations and completely transformed our mid-1970s contemporary home into an absolute masterpiece.

The scope of work was extensive: structural wall removal and framing, a custom loft build-out, a stunning new primary suite bathroom, a gorgeous walk-in closet, three full bathroom renovations, a complete kitchen overhaul, plus new windows, doors, flooring, lighting, painting, and finishes throughout. Every single element was executed flawlessly.

Joe and Mark are both retired Navy Seabee veterans, and their military precision and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of the project. Their expertise and commitment to excellence shone through in the quality of workmanship. Whenever my wife or I had questions or concerns, they were addressed immediately—no delays, no excuses, just prompt and professional solutions.

The onsite crew was equally impressive. They arrived daily, were incredibly knowledgeable, courteous, and maintained open communication with us throughout the entire process. They respected our home, cleaned up after themselves each day, and treated our property as if it were their own.

What really sets them apart is their in-house design consulting service, which made this a truly turnkey experience. Having everything coordinated under one roof eliminated the stress of managing multiple contractors and designers.

If you're looking for a renovation team in the Northern Virginia/DMV area that delivers exceptional quality, maintains clear communication, and genuinely cares about the final result, I highly recommend Veteran Built Homes. They transformed our house into a true work of art, and we couldn't be happier!
